Each Akasia diffuser offers up to 60 days of fragrance on average. This is an estimate — actual longevity depends on temperature, direct sunlight, ventilation, air-conditioning use and how often the bottle is tilted. Cooler, shaded conditions generally make it last longer.

This is almost always olfactory fatigue ("nose blindness"), not a sign the fragrance has faded. Your nose naturally adapts to constant smells and filters them out over time — it's not a fault with the product. Try stepping outside for a few minutes and getting back in, or ask a passenger: if they can smell it, your diffuser is working exactly as it should. Tilting the bottle briefly, or rotating between two scents, can also help keep it feeling fresh.

Unscrew the wooden cap, remove the inner stopper, fit the O-ring, then screw the cap back on without overtightening. Tilt briefly for a few seconds to prime the scent, then hang it from your mirror using the cord. Tilt briefly again whenever the scent starts to fade. Unopened, we recommend using your diffuser within 12 months of purchase for the best fragrance strength. Once opened, expect around 60 days of diffusion before a refill or replacement is needed.

Every Akasia diffuser is hand blended in New Zealand, in small batches. Because of this, minor variation in scent intensity or appearance between batches is normal and not a defect.

Orders are processed and dispatched within 1–2 business days (excluding weekends and public holidays). You'll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking as soon as it's on its way.

Standard shipping is $7, with free shipping on all orders over $70. Once dispatched, estimated delivery is 1–3 business days for Auckland & the North Island, 2–4 business days for the South Island, and an extra 2 business days for rural addresses ($14 rural delivery rate).

Yes — within 14 days of purchase, as long as the product is unused, unopened and in its original packaging, with proof of purchase. For hygiene reasons, opened or used fragrance products can't be returned for change of mind. Faulty or damaged items are always covered under your consumer rights — just email sales@akasia.co.nz.
